Maroon/Burgundy Pants: One Piece Many Ways

We all know that coloured pants have been a rage since the last two years, and they are still pretty hot in the fashion circuit. So I thought I’d do a post on my very first pair of coloured pants (as an adult), and the many different ways I have rocked them.

About two years back, I bought a pair of burgundy/maroon pants. I liked the fit and the first few times I wore them with the safe white/gray/black tees. But as the pants got older, and I eased a little in to sporting them, I started mixing and matching them with different coloured tops and blouses. Here are a few of them.

Casual Chic OOTD What I Wore on the Weekend

Hi guys!

Today I’m going to share with you this casual outfit that I wore a couple of weekends ago. I had to get dressed (and get going) but I was in no mood to put an effort into doing so, so I quickly grabbed this simple yet gorgeous deep magenta top and paired it with my favourite dark blue skinnies. I find tops of this (rather longish) length to be quite flattering and chic, for one they cover the behind so one doesn’t have to worry about things showing while sitting etc. Also, long tops (even tunics) when combined with skinny pants/jeans (appear to) elongate the body, giving one a slimmer look. Coming on to the footwear, I slipped on my rather androgynous dark brown sandals. And the icing on the cake (or this outfit) was my Louis Vuitton Handbag. J

I think the outfit looked just fine, and I was quite happy with the end result because honestly I’d hardly put any effort towards it.

I’d love to hear what you have to say.

What I Wore on A Rainy Saturday: OOTD

Hi Guys!

Last Saturday the Rain Gods finally decided to shower (pun intended) their blessings on us Delhi folks, and the beautiful weather made it a perfect day for just venturing out and about town.

So as I went about my Saturday, I decided to rock my favourite (and only) pair of floral pants (also worn here). They haven’t been out much lately, but hey, I love them just as much as I did when I’d bought them. I teamed-up the pants with a ruffled pale blue top. Since it was raining and there were little puddles everywhere, I went easy on the footwear with a pair of studded berry flats. And the bag I carried was a purple Marks & Spencer one (hardly visible in the photo).

I quite liked the outfit, primarily because of the bright colours. I’d love to know how you dress-up on a rainy day?

Getting My Boho Vibe On- OOTD- Printed Tunic, Skinny Jeans and Speedy 30

Do you want to get a scoop on all that was hot and (not so) happening in the month June?! Well, if you do then just checkout my latest Vlog Video.

Now coming on to today’s post, is it just me or do you guys also find sheer, printed tunics very boho-esque?! There’s something about printed tunics that give them a very feminine, almost bohemian feel (IMO).

On that note, if you’ve been on this long enough you would know that all things boho catch my fancy, and when I saw this gorgeous printed tunic, I knew I could really use it in my ever-expanding wardrobe. Needless to say, as soon as I bought it, I looked for an opportunity to wear it, and last weekend was perfect (although I was unwell, I thought dressing-up would do me good, and it did!).
I just paired up the top with a pair of dark blue skinnies and rocked my studded black flats. Since the top is sheer, I wore a black camisole underneath. I also wore some purple dangly earrings which complemented (the purple bits of) the top. My bag of choice has been LV Speedy 30 (pretty much since the day I bought it).

If you want to check out the accessories I sported with this outfit, then you can have a closer look at them here.

Animal Print Top, Coral Pants and Beige Blazer- Weekend Outfit

This is going to be a short (and sweet hopefully) outfit post. I wore my coral pants with an animal print top to work last Saturday. Of course, if you’re on my Instagram  you know it already. To keep the chill away, I added a beige blazer to the mix. And going with the brown theme (top, blazer, bag), I wore my brown shoes.

Gray Tee, Maroon Pants and Beige Blazer- Not-So-Casual Sunday Outfit

If you have been reading along for some time, you would know that I love a good bargain, and the thrill of finding gold in the dust makes me visit flea markets more often than not. Now you can have a glimpse of my Top Five Steals from Delhi Flea Markets here. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on the same.

Floral Pants, Black Tee and Hot Pink Scarf: Weekend Outfit

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I wore this outfit on Saturday. J I think I’ve spoken enough about my cold and cough, so I’ll just skip that part and get on to Saturday’s outfit. I had to go shopping for some household stuff, so I needed to wear something comfy. And if you know me, you’d know that I love wearing bright colours- so my choice of clothes was comfy and colourful- and what better way to incorporate colour than a pair of floral pants.

Since the floral pants are a riot of colours, I paired them up with a simple black tee. And to make the outfit look a little coordinated, I added a hot-pink scarf to the mix. Since shopping involves a lot of walking, I wore my studded black flats which complemented the black tee. And to stuff all the good things that I bought that day, I carried my tan bag. I was happy with this bright and peppy outfit. J

Coral Pants, Polka Dot Sweater and Stone Necklace- Sunday Outfit

have been suffering from cold and cough, and dressing-up when you feel like bleah is a little tough!
However, since it was the last weekend before Diwali (well there’s Saturday but then that day is booked for visiting family na) my poor health couldn’t keep us from shopping for our house. There were so many things to pick up, so many lists to make- a little tedious but fun nonetheless. I think we did quite a good job at s up our house to welcome Diwali (maybe I’ll do a home décor post on the same).

Now coming on to the outfit, since I wasn’t feeling too great, I wore my coral pants with a polka-dot sweater-ish top. These coral pants always cheer-up my mood. Although they appear sort of pink in the photo, they are actually a vibrant shade of coral. I chose the full-sleeves top because I was feeling cold and the knit fabric was just what I needed to keep myself warm. For footwear I had my studded flats on, since I knew we would have to walk a lot (shopping). And I carried my brown bag so I could stuff the mall knick-knacks in it. To make the outfit a little more ‘put-together’ and interesting, I wore a coral and maroon stone necklace. If you follow me on Instagram, you would know I wore my floral pants on Saturday (Saturday outfit post coming up soon).

A little secret here- I usually pair these coral pants with a neutral top and add this necklace, and the outfit instantly looks put-together. J

I have gotten a lot of use out of these coral pants and I absolutely love them. You can see all the times I have worn these pants here, here, here, here and here.

Pink Floral Frock: Weekend Outfit

Happy Karva Chauth! J In case you want to see what I’m wearing today (for the day), you can follow me on Instagram (clothesandcreativity). I will change in to a saree in the evening. A full post on my outfits will be up soon.

Now coming on to Saturday’s outfit, I wore this floral pink frock to my very dear friend's sister's baby-shower. This was the first baby-shower I had ever attended and it was fun! The only dampner was my poor health (about which I have already bored you in yesterday’s post).

The dress code for the baby-shower was pastel pink or pastel blue. Now I don't really have a lot of pastels in my wardrobe and I did try looking for an appropriate piece in the market. However, I couldn't find anything. So I just wore this printed pink frock- it's definitely a different shade of pink than the usual ones we see. And most of my pink items are bright and cheery (fuchsia, hot pink, neon). Since the frock is not exactly fitted, I added a brown skinny belt to give it some shape. For footwear I wore my berry pumps which bookended the dark pink flowers. And I carried a brown fringe, sling bag.

Comfort Dressing: Maxi Dress: Weekend Outfit

Hello lovely people!

I am delighted to share that I was featured on Claire’s wonderful blog and you can read all about it here. In case you want to check-out the post that was featured, you can see it here.

I’ve been under the weather for a few days now, and waking up to the news of my post being featured brought about the much needed cheer and happiness. I haven’t even gone to work.

Most of Sunday was spent in bed because I was feeling bleaaah! I had fever and body-ache. However, in the evening my husband suggested we go out for a bit, just so I would feel better. By the time I got out of bed and freshened up, I was feeling better. I just wanted to wear the comfiest outfit ever. And in my knowledge, PJs are the comfiest ever, but I really didn’t want to make a spectacle of myself. So I grabbed the next most comfortable thing, and that was this maxi dress. It’s a failry recent addition to my wardrobe and I’ve already worn it twice. I have spoken (written) about my love for maxi dresses here, here, here and here. This maxi dress is kind of monochromatic. It’s got a tie-up belt in black and black sequins on the shoulder. I forgot to take a photograph of the sequined shoulder. I was in no mood to carry a super heavy bag so I stuck to my black studded sling bag. And keeping the comfy quotient in mind, I wore my silver flats. I was glad that I looked presentable taking in to consideration the fact that I wasn’t feeling great.

The fresh air did me some good and for a couple of hours I felt kind of fine, however, once back home the body-ache and fever returned and I hated it. I’m still unwell and had to miss work, but I’m hoping to get better soon.

Retro Top, Skinny Jeans and Berry Shoes: Weekend Outfit

I took the last Saturday off (we can take one Sat off in a month, and second Saturday is a holiday) and this is what I wore- dark blue skinnies with this beautiful floral-ish top. I wore my berry coloured pumps which in my opinion brought out the berries and pinks of the top rather well. Don’t you think so? Also, now I have had this top for around 2 years but haven’t worn it much, or at all. It’s got full sleeves and is kind of awkward at the shoulders. So I have always worn it under a blazer or a cardigan. However, looking at this photo, I think it looks nice with the sleeves scrunched up. Also, this top has got a strong 'Retro' vibe to it. Something about it screams 70s to me- maybe it's the print! Anyway, I'm not complaining cause I happen to love all things retro! BTW, do you notice how my tan bag blends in to this whole outfit so nicely. No wonder I have been obsessed with it. :)

Floral Pants and Denim Shirt: Weekend Outfit

I have already worn these floral pants twice (first I paired them with a white top as can be seen here; second time I teamed them up with a magenta top- will do a post on that soon). And last Sunday I wore them for the third time. I teamed them up with a dark blue denim shirt. The shirt has long sleeves so I folded them (I prefer wearing this shirt with the sleeve folded up). I added berry coloured shoes to the mix and carried my tan bag. This was my Sunday outfit and might I add that I loved it!

Also, these floral pants are turning out to be more versatile than I had initially thought them to be. So all of you thinking of sporting this trend, I say go for it! :)

Floral Pants: Post coming up soon
Denim Shirt: Almost 12 years old (can't recall the brand)
Bag: Gifted
Shoes: Tashi

Colour-Blocked Weekend Outfit

I was working last Saturday, so as much as I would have liked to wear a flowy maxi or a girly dress, I knew I needed to look office appropriate. Now I think I have mentioned this before but I’ll just say it again- the dress-code at my office (for Saturdays) is ‘smart casual’ which basically means ‘toned down’ casual wear. Faded/ripped jeans and garish prints are a complete no-no. So although we do have the liberty to dress-up casual on Saturdays, the outfit must fit the prescribed norms.

Now coming on to the outfit that I wore last (working) Saturday! I combined my sleeveless colour-blocked top (last worn here) with my dark blue skinnies. I added a teal cardigan to keep me warm against the stupid AC. I mean I don’t have anything against the AC, but then again sometimes it becomes too cold at work, and I like to keep myself warm and comfy J I really like how the cardigan (apart from keeping me warm) complements the top in terms of the colour-scheme. I’d just like to add that despite its colour, this cardigan has proven to be quite versatile, as can be seen here and here.

Now since there was (a lot of colour) on the top-half, I decided to wear nude wedges. And of course, I had to carry my tan bag to work (it’s just so convenient or I’m way too lazy to switch bags- you decide!)!

I like this top a lot and when I bought it I thought I’d get a lot of use out of it in the warmer months but this is the second time I’ve worn it. It was just sitting pretty in my closet! :/

You can see another colour-blocked shirt I have here.

Cardigan: Zara
Top: Only
Skinny Jeans: Mango
Shoes/Wedges: Balujas
Bag: Gifted

Do you have items in your closet that sit pretty without you noticing them for the longest time?!

White Top, Burgundy Pants and Scarf- Weekend Outfit

Most people think that scarves are only to be worn during colder months. I however beg to differ and genuinely think that they can be worn all year round, irrespective of the season. For this simple reason they are one of my favourite accessories. I mean adding a scarf instantly takes even the simplest outfits a notch up. If you don’t believe me, you can decide for yourself (by looking at the outfit below).

So I wore this outfit a few weeks ago for an evening out. It consists of a white top paired with maroon/burgundy pants and a fun scarf. The white top and maroon pants, just by themselves looked a little too simple, and although there’s nothing wrong with a simple outfit, I’m always looking for ways to add fun and interest to an outfit. And what better way to add fun than to have a gorgeous scarf thrown around the neck. I love this gray scarf which has (not so) little red foxes all over it. The quirky print and unusual colour combination make it for a unique piece. And the red print complements the maroon pants just fine. I wore black studded flats and carried my tan bag.

See how a scarf makes a simple outfit look put-together (almost instantly)!

Floral Top, White Pants and Skinny Belt: Weekend Outfit

It is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of florals. So when I find myself in a fix, I subconsciously reach out to the floral items in my wardrobe- like this beautiful purple/pink floral top.

On Sunday, I wore this floral top with my white pants. Since the top is sheer, I wore a pink camisole underneath it. And to keep the outfit from looking boring, I added a skinny belt over the top, which kind of accentuated my waist (I think). For footwear I had my berry shoes on (love these). The colour of the shoes complements the pink undertones of the top. And I carried a coral pink sling bag (not in this photo). BTW, this floral top is a total style-score (more on it in an upcoming post)! I was mighty pleased with this outfit (not so pleased with the kind of swollen face).

Berry Shoes: Tashi
