How
many of us have woken up in the morning with absolutely no clue as to what to
wear to work, and in a rush to get ready and reach office on time, we often end
up wearing the same run-of-the-mill outfits (read button-up with trousers). I
know I have faced this ever so often.

Dressing up for Autumn/Fall Already: What I Wore to Work
I
am a summer person, have always been one, and any day prefer the sun to the
fog. But there comes a time in the year when the leaves change colour, the
mornings become misty and pleasant and there’s festivity in the air. And that
for me is this time of the year- Autumn (or Fall, as some call it).
Now
I know that it’s far from Autumn here (in Delhi), I mean what’s with the
scorching sun at this time of the year?! But I’ve actually started dressing up
for the colder months. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not covered with woolens
etc., but I’ve just been adding little details like wearing scarves with jewel
tones, wearing a light blazer etc.
In
the outfit below, you’ll see that I played with some neutral colours and the
only source of colour is the scarf (in shades of mustard, burgundy, olive) and
the blue bag. BTW, if you like wearing scarves then I have a video where I show
7 Different Ways to Tie a Scarf. Coming back to the outfit, the top that I wore
was a deep mustard colour, but then again, that’s hardly visible in the photo
as well as IRL. However, I do love clothing in deep mustard, especially during
this time of the year.I wore my new olive-taupe jeggings for the first
time. Yes, I wore jeggings to work, no they don’t look like jeggings (they look like skinny trousers, probably
because of the colour). For footwear, I wore these tan Primark sandals (that are
almost like shoes). And my bag remained the same blue one. I quite liked this
outfit, and the blazer provided the perfect dose of coziness in the rather cold (air-conditioned)
office.

What I Wore on A Working Saturday: Floral Top and Maroon Pants
Remember
the last time I wore this floral top? Well, I had been itching to wear it
again, but this time in a more ‘relaxed’ way. And a Working Saturday was a
perfect day to give this top a relaxed, fun spin.
So
I started by picking out these burgundy/maroon pants which bookend the
pink/maroon flowers of the top rather nicely. And then for footwear, I chose a
pair of black Bata sandals. I bought these and a couple of other sandals from
Bata fairly recently, and I must say they are all super-comfy. Coming on to the
bag, I really did not bother changing in to a neutral one and just went
along-with my current favourite blue Zara bag. In fact, since the outfit is
fairly coordinated, a pop of blue adds a touch of unexpected ‘interest’ to the
outfit. For sunglasses, I had my newest Primark ones on. I love them, and I
have nothing similar to these. J On that note, do let me know if you’d
like me to do a ‘London Haul’. Also, although my hairstyle is not too clear in
the photo, I made a side French braid and then pulled the rest of the hair in
to a normal braid. I’ve been loving the whole French braid thing, and it literally
takes 5 minutes, and looks super-fancy.

Maroon Pants: Promod
Bag: Zara
Sandals: Bata
Sunglasses: Primark
Watch: Tommy Hilfiger
BTW,
did you watch my video where I show you 7 Different Ways to Tie A Scarf?!
I
love reading what you all have to say, so do drop in a line (or two). J

Florals for Fall with a little Flea Market Experience: OOTD
How
many of you who stay in Delhi have had a chance to explore the make-believe ‘Flea Market’ that’s set-up every Wednesday at Select City Walk? Well, I happened to
discover this fun market a couple of weeks ago (16th August, 2014-
that day it was held on a Saturday 2014 because of security concerns
pre-Independence Day).

Work Wardrobe Essentials: Basic Pieces to Build a Work Wardrobe
Hi
Guys!
I
am back with another fashion video, and this one is all about the Basic items
to Build a Work Wardrobe.
For
those of you who don’t know, I work in a law firm where I’m required to wear ‘business
casuals’ on weekdays (although I sometimes wear business formals for meetings
and black and white court uniform for when I have to go to Court), while on Saturdays,
the dress code is ‘smart casuals’. Now I know, my work environment may differ
from yours, but I’ve tried to put together a bunch of essentials that would
work for a wide range of work settings.
Just
hit the play button to find out what exactly those essentials are. J
BTW, I forgot to include a blazer, which is always a must-have in any work-wardrobe. If you’re starting out, I’d just you pick up a black blazer, only because it works with anything and everything (later you can add gray, navy etc. to your collection).
If you liked the video then please give it a thumbs-up. For more such videos, just subscribe to my YouTube Channel (Clothes and Creativity).

How I Styled my Forever 21 Floral Top for Work: OOTD
I
know I haven’t done a blog-post in a long time, and I’m not going to give you
any excuses for the same, instead I shall just write this post. J
Now
if you recall my last video/post, you would know how I styled my floral Forever21 top for a casual Sunday outing. What I’m going to share with you today is
how I wore that same top to work.
I
swapped the skinny jeans with dark blue trousers, tucked in the rather tunic-y floral
top and swapped the bright yellow bag with a vintage-y dark blue one. And
voila, my outfit instantly became office-appropriate (at least IMO).
Now what I
could have further done was changed my footwear to maybe a pair of nude flats,
and addition of a skinny belt wouldn’t have hurt either, but let’s just say I
got ready in a rush.
Top: Forever 21
(scored from Janpath)
Pants: Allen
Solly
Bag: Zara
Footwear: Bata
Sunglasses: Forever
21
Watch: Tommy
Hilfiger
Looking
forward to your feedback. J

OOTD Video: How to Make Animal Print Work for Work
I know a lot of us shy away from animal prints, thinking they are ‘too loud’ or ‘in your face’, but I’ve come to realise that with a little effort, they can be worn in any setting. Don’t believe me? Watch the video below where I wear my animal print top to work.
If you want to read more about animal print, you can find a bunch of posts here.

How to Avoid Looking Boring at Work: Office Outfit
Although I like polished
suits, well-cut shirts and pencil skirts for work, the boho side in me itches
to come out, even at work. So what if I can't really go boho at work, I do try
to break-free from the office-y mould to add some fun to the day-today work-life.

OOTD: Multicoloured Striped Sweater, Trousers and Blazer
I
know I’ve been posting outfits with striped sweater back to back, but what to
do, they just seem to be so versatile.
So
today I bring to you another work-appropriate outfit, featuring my new
multicoloured striped sweater. Wuhooo!

Striping It Out: OOTD
I
think I’ve mentioned this before, but let me say it again, I think stripes fall
in the category of neutrals! I mean with so much of pattern-mixing in the
fashion-world, stripes are the safest pattern to mix with anotherpatter/print…say polka-dots!

OOTD and a little story!
The
outfit and the story are not related, but since I wanted to put this down on
the blog, I’ll just start with the rather strange story first. So here we go…

Multi-coloured Cardigan, Hot Pink Scarf and Black Trousers: OOTD
I
know I have been MIA for quite some time now, but I have a good reason for the
same. I was out-of-station for a friend’s wedding, and now that I am back I
plan to be regular with the blog posts.

OOTD featuring my new Blazer
Here’s
a quick outfit post- I wore this outfit to work sometime last week.
This
blazer is brand new and did not see the light of the day for more than 3 years. I had
bought it in July 2010 and since it was only to be worn in the colder months, I
had happily stuffed it away in the box bed, only to have realized now that it had been unworn
for SO long!

Green, Teal and Brown: Work Outfit
Let
me start by saying that I voted yesterday and for those of you who stay in
Delhi, and are above 18 years of age, I sincerely hope that you exercised your
right to vote.
Now coming on to the fun fashion stuff- It’s not hard for you to guess that I’ve been crushing on this teal scarf for some time now. I’ve been using it with a lot of different outfits, all of which might not be posted on this blog, but you’ll surely get a glimpse of them on my Instagram (clothesandcreativity).

Pink and Black with a Dash of Brown: Work Outfit
Hello
there!
I
know I have a lot of pending outfit posts, especially those relating to Indian
outfits, and I promise I’ll blog about them soon. Trying to figure out whether to do a
series of posts on Indian Wear or to just bunch it up in one post. Let me know
if you prefer one over the other.

Teal, Yellow and Brown: Experimental Friday
I wore this outfit to work today. I had not planned
on wearing this, but just put it together in the morning rush. And on seeing
the photo, I really liked the whole experiment of mixing teal, yellow and
brown.
