Animal Print Top, Coral Pants and Beige Blazer- Weekend Outfit

This is going to be a short (and sweet hopefully) outfit post. I wore my coral pants with an animal print top to work last Saturday. Of course, if you’re on my Instagram  you know it already. To keep the chill away, I added a beige blazer to the mix. And going with the brown theme (top, blazer, bag), I wore my brown shoes.

Coral Pants, Polka Dot Sweater and Stone Necklace- Sunday Outfit

have been suffering from cold and cough, and dressing-up when you feel like bleah is a little tough!
However, since it was the last weekend before Diwali (well there’s Saturday but then that day is booked for visiting family na) my poor health couldn’t keep us from shopping for our house. There were so many things to pick up, so many lists to make- a little tedious but fun nonetheless. I think we did quite a good job at s up our house to welcome Diwali (maybe I’ll do a home décor post on the same).

Now coming on to the outfit, since I wasn’t feeling too great, I wore my coral pants with a polka-dot sweater-ish top. These coral pants always cheer-up my mood. Although they appear sort of pink in the photo, they are actually a vibrant shade of coral. I chose the full-sleeves top because I was feeling cold and the knit fabric was just what I needed to keep myself warm. For footwear I had my studded flats on, since I knew we would have to walk a lot (shopping). And I carried my brown bag so I could stuff the mall knick-knacks in it. To make the outfit a little more ‘put-together’ and interesting, I wore a coral and maroon stone necklace. If you follow me on Instagram, you would know I wore my floral pants on Saturday (Saturday outfit post coming up soon).

A little secret here- I usually pair these coral pants with a neutral top and add this necklace, and the outfit instantly looks put-together. J

I have gotten a lot of use out of these coral pants and I absolutely love them. You can see all the times I have worn these pants here, here, here, here and here.

Coral Pants, Black Tee and Chunky Scarf: Outfit

I don’t know why, but I have been sporting coloured and printed pants a lot lately. Maybe it’s because a little bit of colour/pattern on the lower half immediately adds interest to even the simplest of outfits. And I have also been a little (or lot) adventurous and bought myself a pair of floral pants (which you can see here and here).

Since 2nd October 2013 was a holiday, I had the opportunity to wear casuals….how I love holidays in the middle of the week! I teamed-up my coral pants (which, for some reason, appear red in this photo) with a baggy black V-neck tee. I added a chunky scarf in coral, gray and blue to the mix, and voila I was good to head out. I enjoyed wearing studded black flats since on most working days I wear shoes with heels. And I carried my regular tan bag. In all honesty, I was mighty pleased with this outfit! J I love how a simple accessory like scarf can pull together an outfit instantly and make it look fun and interesting.

Coral Pants (yet again): Weekend Outfit

It’s no news that I have been crushing on my coral pants ever since I bought them. Every time I have to dress up casual, I just my coral pants and pair them up with any neutral top.

Past Saturday was no different. I had over-slept and had to rush to work. And obviously I grabbed my coral pants to cheer myself up on a working Saturday. I think it’s a crime to work on Saturdays!!! Anyhow, I paired up the pants with a gray tee. I think tees in neutral colour palettes are so versatile! They can be paired-up with almost anything- think floral skirts, pants, coloured denims, skinny jeans. Just to give a little twist to the casual look, I tucked the tee in and added a skinny black belt. As a finishing touch, I added the striped scarf which has shades of coral (alongwith with bright yellow, blue etc.). The footwear I wore were my studded black flats which kind of went well with the skinny belt. And since I was going to work, I carried my big tan bag.

To be honest, this outfit is a mix/hybrid of this outfit and this outfit (although the gray top is different).

I was happy with this outfit, although the photo is far from it. Like I mentioned, I was in a rush and got this photo clicked in a jiffy. Like they say, ‘something is better than nothing’. Am I right?! J

Coral and Monochrome: Outfit of the Day

This is another outfit from last weekend. Since it was an extended one, I had the opportunity (and pleasure) of getting dressed in bright and colourful attire (my favourite). I combined my coral pants (previously worn here and here) with this monochrome top and my favourite black pumps. For jewellery I had little heart ear-studs and a pendant-necklace on. And I added my daily dose of sparkle in the form of my rose-gold watch and sparkly bangles and bracelet. The bag I carried was my black silver/gold studded one. I though it went rather well with this outfit.

Comments and feedback welcome.

A Dash of Coral to Cheer Me Up- Outfit!

I have been a little under the weather L Did not even go to work today. The weather is lovely and I can hardly enjoy it.

Anyway, all of you know that I am obsessed with my coral pants and have worn them multiple times ever since I bought them. This outfit is from last Sunday- Coral pants teamed-up with gray tee and some red/orange necklace. I carried my studded black leather bag and chose my black studded flats to go with the bag. I absolutely love this bag- it’s got both silver and gold hardware on it and is just so versatile. Perfect for both day and night. My arm candy consisted of the usual rose-gold watch with some sparkly bangles and pearl and gold bracelet. Just looking at those bright coral pants cheers me up. BTW, this outfit was an absolute last moment decision- I got dressed in like 2 minutes...not kidding!

How do you like it? Comments and feedback welcome.

One Piece Many Ways: CORAL PANTS

Well well, it’s no secret that I’ve been crushing on my coral pants/jeans ever since I bought them. And I have managed to wear it thrice already. Yes, thrice in just about 2 weeks.

Although I have already posted about the outfits consisting of coral pants twice, I haven’t written a post on the third combination. So here goes the post on teaming-up coral pants with different tops to create interesting and fun outfits.

Outfit No.1: Black Tee, Coral Pants and Beaded Necklace- I wore this outfit on my Birthday, during the day. We went to Hauz Khas Village for some lunch and drinks and I thought this was the perfect look- relaxed, easy, bright and fun. The necklace and footwear looked good with the pants. And yes, I switched on to my boho-esque looking fringe, sling bag.

Outfit No.2: White Shirt, Coral Pants and Striped Scarf- This was the first time I wore my coral pants. I thought the scarf looked great with the pants and echoed the shade rather well. You can read the entire post here

Outfit No.3: This is how I wore the last (most recent) time- Graphic print sleeveless tee with coral pants. I chose my blue Zara bag which coordinated well with the top. You can read the entire post here

Well, what’s the point of this post? The answer is to exercise those creative cells and make maximum use of statement pieces in your wardrobe. Although there are a million other tops I could team the coral jeans up with, these are the combinations I have already worn. I am always trying to come up with new combinations for mixing and matching my wardrobe items to create fresh and fun looks and the coral pants have just been added to that collection.
The inspiration behind this post is Audrey from Putting Me Together

CRUSHING ON CORAL

I have been crushing on my coral pants ever since I bought them. The colour is gorgeous and the fit is (almost) perfect. And given the rainy weather, they are the perfect colour to uplift the mood and make the day cheery.

So this Saturday, I chose to dress-up in coral yet again. I teamed up the coral jeans with a graphic top in white/blue/purple/gray. I switched my tan bag to a blue Zara one which coordinated well with the top. And my choice of footwear was silver flats. I added a regular dose of sparkle in the form of my watch, sparkly bangles, gold string bracelet and pearl bracelet. I have worn my coral jeans thrice already (and it’s only been about 10 days since I bought them). More coming up on different ways to wear coloured denims soon.

How do you like the outfit?

THE STORY OF MY NEW CORAL JEANS/PANTS

Colored denims/pants/trousers have been around for a while now, and I have really taken a liking to this trend. Although I cannot boast of having a lot of coloured bottoms, I do have my beloved burgundy/maroon pants that I bought more than a year ago. And ever since I have wanted to pick up jeans in some other colours, coral being on top of that list.

Now as fate would have it, while strolling around the mall after work I decided to check out the sale at Marks & Spencer. I headed straight to the ‘Bags’ section and was disappointed to know that there was no discount on bags. Sigh!

Nevertheless I gathered my enthusiasm and browsed through the clothing section. Almost instantly I chanced upon this gorgeous pair of jeans and in the colour that I had always wanted…CORAL! And to my joy, the store had my size. Without wasting a second, I tried the jeans and they fit like a glove. Within minutes, I was walking out of the store with my (now) faourite pair of coloured jeans. And you know what was the cherry on the cake, the awesome discount! They were super-economical (if any of you want to know the price, drop in a comment).

Now that the coral beauty was in my possession, I wanted to wear it at the earliest possible occasion. And since the next day was a weekday, I had to wait till Saturday (smart casuals at work) to rock them. So on Saturday, I teamed-up the jeans with a white linen collarless shirt. I threw on a colourful striped scarf which went rather well with the coral jeans. For accessories I added some bracelets with my rose-gold watch and for footwear I had my silver flats on. Since I was heading for work, I carried my huge tan bag. And I also added some dangly white earrings. I was happy with the outfit, not so much with the photo. The photos were taken in a rush, but I couldn’t wait to introduce you all to my new purchase so I uploaded the photo anyway.

I have worn these twice already. Will do another outfit post (featuring them) soon. J Also, the jeans appear to be orange-ish in the photo but they are actually a deep coral in colour.
