Getting My Boho Vibe On- OOTD- Printed Tunic, Skinny Jeans and Speedy 30

Do you want to get a scoop on all that was hot and (not so) happening in the month June?! Well, if you do then just checkout my latest Vlog Video.

Now coming on to today’s post, is it just me or do you guys also find sheer, printed tunics very boho-esque?! There’s something about printed tunics that give them a very feminine, almost bohemian feel (IMO).

On that note, if you’ve been on this long enough you would know that all things boho catch my fancy, and when I saw this gorgeous printed tunic, I knew I could really use it in my ever-expanding wardrobe. Needless to say, as soon as I bought it, I looked for an opportunity to wear it, and last weekend was perfect (although I was unwell, I thought dressing-up would do me good, and it did!).
I just paired up the top with a pair of dark blue skinnies and rocked my studded black flats. Since the top is sheer, I wore a black camisole underneath. I also wore some purple dangly earrings which complemented (the purple bits of) the top. My bag of choice has been LV Speedy 30 (pretty much since the day I bought it).

Black and Green Tunic with Skinny Pants: Work Outfit

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that sometime last week I wore this outfit to work. I love this tunic, although it’s not really mine. Yes, you guessed it right, I borrowed it from my little sister. She had bought it from Lucknow. I love how the bright green chikan embroidery pops against the black background. The fit is also quite flattering (in my humble opinion ;)). I usually pair this tunic with black leggings but for work I wore them with my black skinnies. And since the fabric is sheer, I wore a black camisole underneath the tunic.

The first photo doesn’t show my footwear so I clicked another photo of my sandals- my trusted silver flats which I wear with almost any and every outfit.

I know the photo quality isn’t that great but I’m trying to resolve that issue. J

Tunic, Skinnies and Necklace:Work Outfit

I wore this satin tunic to work sometime last week. I really like the rich fabric and although the tunic is not strictly formal, the richness of the fabric makes the outfit look polished. I usually pair up this tunic with leggings for a relaxed look, but since I was getting dressed for work, I substituted the leggings for skinny pants. And as much as I’d have liked to wear my black pumps, I just opted for my silver flats. I think it looked nice with all the silver in the tunic. I gave the finishing touch to this outfit by adding this beautiful gold/white/glass necklace. The best part about this necklace is that it goes with a lot of clothes in my wardrobe.

Happy Rakhi: Indian Outfit

Hello there! Happy Rakhi. This time there was some confusion regarding the Rakhi date. Initially, we all thought it was on 20th August 2013. But on 19th August 2013 we got to know that it is on 21st August 2013. So the long and short of it is that we celebrated Rakhi on 21st August 2013.
Now coming on to the more interesting part i.e. the outfit, this is what I wore- a beautiful green chanderi A-line kurta/semi-anarkali with churidaar and a printed dupatta. I absolutely love this suit. The colour is a beautiful shade of green and the dupatta is a mix of maroon, gold and green prints. The kurta has got some self style threadwork which runs across throughout the kurta. The churidaar is maroon (although it appears a shade of red in the photo). This suit was a part of my wedding trousseau. Now you might think that it’s too plain to be ‘trousseau material’ but I say it’s exactly these kind of Indian outfits that come in handy for several occasions which require you to be dressed-up in Indian wear, yet not be blingy. Anyway, too much chamki (bling) is not my thing. And I am happy to say that I was pleased with this outfit.

In case you’re wondering where is this outfit from, my Mum got the suit material from Meena Bazaar and we designed the outfit. The back is a (not so) deep-U and has a tie-up with beautiful, sparkly green latkans. Somehow I forgot to get the back photographed!

Metallic Tunic and Skinny Pants- Work Outfit

As much as I’d like to plan my outfits in advance (so as to avoid rushed mornings), I’m almost always unable to do the same. On days that I do, I feel much relaxed. But those days are far and few. So the other day I frantically pulled out some work-appropriate clothes (read button-up shirt and trousers). However, the only thing that kept me from wearing them was that they weren’t ironed. And just as I began ironing them, I realized that the iron had given up on me!!! Imagine my plight. And there was no dhobi in sight. So I had no option but to pull out something ironed and make it work for work (pun intended).

As I hardly had time on hand, I pulled out my metallic (silver gray/black/gold) tunic and some black skinny pants. I wore my black pumps to complete the outfit and make it look a little office-y! For accessories I wore my silver watch with some pearls and sparkly pink bangles and I added my silver hoop earrings. The bag I carried was my usual tan one. And yes, despite being pressed for time, I still had my blog photo clicked. Now am I not a good blogger?! J

Tunic: Export House
Black Skinny Pants: Mango
Bag: Gift
Sunglasses: Marks & Spencer
Watch: Moschino

I was fairly happy with the outfit. It might not fit in the category of ‘formals’ but I think it looked polished enough to pass off as ‘office/work’ wear. What say?

What’s your go-to work/office outfit for a rushed morning?

BOHO CHIC Outfit of the Day

THE COMFY TUNIC

Tunics have been around for a while, and might I add that they are here to stay. Their versatility makes them wearable in a variety of different settings. They can be worn all by themselves, or can be teamed up with leggings, or jeggings, skinny jeans, pencil trousers and even palazzo pants.

I usually prefer wearing a tunic while I am travelling. Paired with leggings, they are the most comfortable and easy piece to rock. And the fashion quotient remains intact, without trying too hard while one is on the go.

Here I teamed up this floral, chiffon tunic in a pretty lilac shade with my black leggings. Since the tunic is flowy, I added a wide black belt to give the outfit some structure. I also wore a light, cotton cardigan (in teal) to protect me from the harsh summer heat. And I wore my bright red flip-flops for comfort. Last but not the least, I wore my big sunnies.

Do you wear tunics? Drop in a line if you like wearing tunics.

Floral Tunic

So today I was in the mood for some colour and decided to wear a breezy floral tunic. I have a strong liking for anything floral, and this bright tunic is perfect for spring and summer. I teamed up the tunic with some skinny jeans and flats. I completed the look by carrying my deep yellow bag.
