Maroon/Burgundy Pants: One Piece Many Ways

We all know that coloured pants have been a rage since the last two years, and they are still pretty hot in the fashion circuit. So I thought I’d do a post on my very first pair of coloured pants (as an adult), and the many different ways I have rocked them.

About two years back, I bought a pair of burgundy/maroon pants. I liked the fit and the first few times I wore them with the safe white/gray/black tees. But as the pants got older, and I eased a little in to sporting them, I started mixing and matching them with different coloured tops and blouses. Here are a few of them.

One Piece Many Ways – Floral Pants

It’s been a while since I have done a “One Piece Many Ways” post, so I thought today I will write about how you can wear floral pants multiple ways.

Monochrome Top: One Piece Many Ways

Today’s post is a result of Audrey's wonderful idea of remixing our clothing items to get maximum use out of them. If you want to see the last One Piece Many Ways post, click here. Audrey blogs at Putting Me Together.

Now I am a creature of habit. There are times when I want to wear the same outfit over and over again just because it’s easy and makes me feel good. And there are certain favourite items in my wardrobe- like this gorgeous monochrome top. I had picked it up from a boutique, without even trying it on. Initially I thought it was perfect for work (combined with black trousers). But I think it’s perfect for a casual setting as well.

·         I teamed-up this top with my favourite coral pants. I added black pumps and my studded black bag for some fun. You can have a look at the original post here.

·         The monochrome top paired up with a pair of black trousers is my favourite look for work. I often add a bright accessory (here it can be seen in the form of a hot pink scarf) to add some fun and colour to the monochromatic look. You can have a look at the original post here.

·         This top looks great my white pants. I added a string of pearls around my neck to add a touch of femininity to the outfit. My footwear had animal prints and it almost mimicked the top. You can have a look at the original post here.

Do you remix your clothing items often? Which outfit did you like the best? I would love to know your thoughts on the same. J

One Piece Many Ways: CORAL PANTS

Well well, it’s no secret that I’ve been crushing on my coral pants/jeans ever since I bought them. And I have managed to wear it thrice already. Yes, thrice in just about 2 weeks.

Although I have already posted about the outfits consisting of coral pants twice, I haven’t written a post on the third combination. So here goes the post on teaming-up coral pants with different tops to create interesting and fun outfits.

Outfit No.1: Black Tee, Coral Pants and Beaded Necklace- I wore this outfit on my Birthday, during the day. We went to Hauz Khas Village for some lunch and drinks and I thought this was the perfect look- relaxed, easy, bright and fun. The necklace and footwear looked good with the pants. And yes, I switched on to my boho-esque looking fringe, sling bag.

Outfit No.2: White Shirt, Coral Pants and Striped Scarf- This was the first time I wore my coral pants. I thought the scarf looked great with the pants and echoed the shade rather well. You can read the entire post here

Outfit No.3: This is how I wore the last (most recent) time- Graphic print sleeveless tee with coral pants. I chose my blue Zara bag which coordinated well with the top. You can read the entire post here

Well, what’s the point of this post? The answer is to exercise those creative cells and make maximum use of statement pieces in your wardrobe. Although there are a million other tops I could team the coral jeans up with, these are the combinations I have already worn. I am always trying to come up with new combinations for mixing and matching my wardrobe items to create fresh and fun looks and the coral pants have just been added to that collection.

ONE SKIRT: 3 DIFFERENT WAYS

I picked up this lovely gray pencil skirt around 1 year and a half back and have been wearing it ever since. The skirt has got a subtle floral pattern all throughout and hits about mid-length. The length of the skirt makes it easy to wear it to any place.

By changing the top and the accessories, the outfit can take on a whole new look. To illustrate this point, you may have a look at the three different ways in which I have worn this skirt in the past.

For the very first time that I wore this skirt, I teamed it up with a navy blue top. For accessories I added my pink/black Zara bag and a beaded necklace. The footwear was white flats.

Since the skirt is pretty much neutral, here I combined it with a tomato red top. Gray and red look gorgeous together and the red top echoes with the red floral pattern on the skirt. You may notice that I’m wearing the same beaded necklace. For footwear I have my red/silver flats and the bag is a nude M&S hobo.

Here I combined the skirt with a bright blue top. The bag is the same as that in the outfit above (nude M&S hobo). And the common thing in all the outfits apart from the skirt is the beaded necklace, It’s one of my favourite accessories since it’s so easy to wear and can help pull-together most of the outfits. My sandals are studded, berry coloured flats.

Let me know of any other pairing that’ll look great with this skirt. Comments and feedback are appreciated.

Coloured Pants

Coloured Pants/Denims/Bottoms have been quite a rage for some time now, and with summer kicking in with full glory, you can see coloured bottoms everywhere.

I couldn't resist all the yummy colours and jumped on to the bandwagon with much aplomb. As a starting post, I will show you how I have incorporated the trend in to my everyday attire. I bought a pair of maroon pants which I have successfully teamed up with different tops to create a casual-chic look. Here is how:

Look No.1: I teamed up the maroon pants with a basic grey top. To add a pop of colour to the outfit, I added a necklace with orange and maroon stones. The necklace adds interest to the outfit and ties up the maroon pants well with the neutral top. Further, I added a neutral, soft/flesh pink bag to complete the look.

Look No.2: Here, I teamed up the maroon pants with a basic black tee. I accessorized by adding a colour-blocked scarf with black, red, blue and beige colour. Colour-blocking is another trend which has been big since quite some time now. The red in the scarf goes well with the maroon pants. I again carried a neutral bag to avoid adding too many colours. I finished off the look by wearing simple berry coloured flats which go very well with the maroon pants.

So, these are the two ways I wear my coloured pants. Hope you like it and get ideas on how to wear yours! :)
