OOTD: Reggae Vibes

I love me some stripes, and I love me some colour. So when you combine stripes and colour, it automatically results in my favourite outfit. And when the colour palette has a strong reggae vibe to it, it just makes the outfit that much more special.

Confused by the description? Checkout the dress I wore a couple of weeks back. This dress is super comfortable and fits beautifully. I like the fuss-free style and the fact that it’s cotton makes it for an easy wear in this humid weather.

I paired the dress up with my brown Bata flats and a tan belt (from Bangkok). And my choice of handbag was the Louis Vuitton Galliera PM. I love how the tan elements (in the accessories) complement the outfit and pull the whole look together. I also wore a peach hair-band (also from Bangkok). If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I have been loving hair-bands.

Dress: Watch this to know (and get pleasantly surprised).
Footwear: Bata
Handbag: Louis Vuitton Galliera PM

What I Bought at the Flea Market: Janpath Fashion Haul

I love shopping at flea markets! The whole experience of jostling through vast crowds and digging through piles of clothes to find hidden treasures, and that too at dirt cheap prices is just so enthralling! So everytime I want to give my wardrobe a quick update, without actually breaking the bank, I head to one of the many flea markets Delhi has to offer. And often I come home with bags full of goodies- clothes, accessories, footwear, you name it, and you’ll find it at one these markets.

Now coming to the best part, I happened to visit Janpath (twice, over a period of few weeks) and I was quick to scoop up some really great clothes and accessories. Today I’m going to share with you all my Fashion Finds! Just go ahead and click the play button to see for yourself all the great bargains that I managed to get.

Hint: If you like flowy boho tunics, vintage dresses, funky earrings, then you will most likely like this Haul Video! J You can also watch what I bought from the ever-popular Sarojini Nagar Market here

It’d be great if you could drop in a line or two, just sharing your flea market experience (if any).

How to feel and look ‘put-together’ in a jiffy: OOTD

We all have days when we need to get dressed in a jiffy and yet look polished and on days especially nothing worthwhile in terms of clothing comes to mind. On those days, just go basic with your outfit (like a simple dress) and add a bold/bright accessory.

What I’m trying to say is that sometimes all it takes is a bright bag and a bright lipstick (in addition to your basic outfit) to make you look ‘put-together’. Like here, in this photo where I have just worn a simple printed sundress, added a brown belt to give it some definition, and pulled together the entire look by just carrying a bright cherry bag and sporting red lips.

To be honest, I also wore like a really gorgeous pair of sandals (IMO). But had I worn even a pair of basic brown sandals, the outfit would have looked equally good (if not better).

Dress: So old I don’t even remember where it’s from
Bag: Bali
Footwear: Bata
Lipstick: Maybelline lip-stain
Belt: Flea-market

PS: I had worn this outfit back in June!

Pink Floral Frock: Weekend Outfit

Happy Karva Chauth! J In case you want to see what I’m wearing today (for the day), you can follow me on Instagram (clothesandcreativity). I will change in to a saree in the evening. A full post on my outfits will be up soon.

Now coming on to Saturday’s outfit, I wore this floral pink frock to my very dear friend's sister's baby-shower. This was the first baby-shower I had ever attended and it was fun! The only dampner was my poor health (about which I have already bored you in yesterday’s post).

The dress code for the baby-shower was pastel pink or pastel blue. Now I don't really have a lot of pastels in my wardrobe and I did try looking for an appropriate piece in the market. However, I couldn't find anything. So I just wore this printed pink frock- it's definitely a different shade of pink than the usual ones we see. And most of my pink items are bright and cheery (fuchsia, hot pink, neon). Since the frock is not exactly fitted, I added a brown skinny belt to give it some shape. For footwear I wore my berry pumps which bookended the dark pink flowers. And I carried a brown fringe, sling bag.

Dress: Don’t remember
Bag: Mango
Berry Pumps: Tashi
Brown Belt: Local Market

Blue Dress: Weekend Outfit

Sunday was family day meaning I got to spend some quality time with my family J Yay! We all went for the film Madras Café and then came back home to a delicious lunch cooked by my Mum.

So I’ll just tell you a bit about the flick before we head on to my outfit details. The film is a great piece of work- the tense atmosphere in Sri Lanka (in the early 90’s) has been captured realistically. The film deals with the assassination of one of the ex-PMs’ of this country, a topic which was highly covered by the media at that point. However, I had little knowledge (of the intricacies) because I was a child. John puts up a good show and even Nargis Fakri (who was a big letdown in Rockstar) does not disappoint. So if you like films with a realistic touch (without the regular naach-gaana), then I say go watch it. You might as well come out of the theatre with new knowledge of some little-known facts.

Now coming on to my outfit, I’m usually cold in movie theatres. I just can’t stand the AC blasting off. So keeping the situation in mind, I chose to wear a blue dress, and to avoid being uncomfortably cold I added an aqua cardigan. I think the cardigan went along rather well with the dress. I used a wide black belt to cinch the dress at the waist. My choice of footwear was my studded pair of black flats. I carried my black studded bag, which I thought complimented my studded flats.

And of course I had to pose with my sister’s colourful umbrella.
