Valentine's Day Make-Up Tutorial + Outfit Idea || Clothes and Creativity

So Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I thought I'd share with you my go-to outfit for a Valentine's Day Date! Now I remember when I was in school and college I used to get super-excited about Valentine's Day, but in the recent years, I have realised that to spend quality time with your partner, to just bond with them is probably my favourite way to celebrate this supposed 'Day of Love'. Don't get me wrong, those of you who want  to 'party-hardy', I mean I have surely done that, but like I said, age does add some wisdom (or so I like to think)! :)

With that being said, let's just move on to my outfit. Although I wore this outfit for a picnic last weekend, I would love to dress in something similar, come Valentine's Day. It's easy, breezy and bohemian. Perfect for just lounging around or going about town! :)

I also filmed a make-up tutorial centred around Valentine's Day! :)

Nykaa Haul: Making the most of GOSF

Hello lovelies!

Today I am going to share with you my GOSF Nykaa Haul. To tell you honestly, I was not aware of the GOSF till I read about it on a blog. I’m not much of an online shopper you see. But once I read about all the great brands and products that would be on sale, I wasted no time in jotting down a list of products that I would want to buy.

Current Favourites: Gadgets, Accessories, Beauty, Skincare and Make-up

I thought I’d give you a sneak peek in to some of the things that I have been loving (and using) currently.

·         Blackberry Q5 (birthday gift from Hubs)- Although I am no gadget freak, I absolutely love this phone- it has the goodness of Blackberry (qwerty) and the ease of touch-screen. Lovely, I say!
·         I-Touch. This is my only Apple product and I love it. It has all the apps and qualities of an i-phone, minus the phone. All my music is on this device.
·         Tommy Hilfiger Rose-gold watch. Whoever has read my blog knows how obsessed I am with this watch. I stack it up with some sparkly bracelets and bangles almost daily.
·         Black clutch hairclip- With my long hair, this clip comes in quite handy.
·         L’oreal True Match Foundation in Golden Beige (D3)- Love it. Easily blendable and such great staying power.
·         Candied Ginger Lip Balm by The Body Shop – I have had this balm for a while now and I like to use it just before I wear my lipstick.
·         Maybelline Lip Liner in 338 (Midnight Plum)- It’s a gorgeous plum colour which looks great in the night. I sometimes dab a bit of it during the day just to add some colour to my face.
·         Bright lipsticks- Maybelline Super Stay 14 hour lipstick on 160 (Infinitely Fuchsia) and Oriflame Visions 5076 (Coral Red). Although it says “Coral red” the Oriflame lipstick is more burnt orange than red.
·         Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in 05- It’s a great cream blush to add some colour and sheen to the cheeks.
·         Sparkly Bangles and Pearl Bracelet- Love them!
·         Hot Pink Hairband. One of the most useful hair accessories to keep those strands from falling on my face.
·         Ittar: Concentrated perfume oil.
Incolor Kajal- Although missing from the photo, this post will tell you how much I love this Kajal
And just in case you’re wondering what’s the base on which I’ve gathered all the stuff, it’s the August 2013 edition of Elle Magazine! J

INCOLOR KAJAL: Review

One of the make-up items I cannot do without is ‘Kajal’. I need to define my eyes with Kajal before I leave the house. And over the years, I have had the opportunity to try a variety of brands of Kajal. Some weren’t true black, some would melt, smudge and darken the under eye area, and others would not give the desired effect. In short, I could not really find the perfect Kajal that would stay good for a couple of hours. I did take a liking to the Maybelline Kajal for a while, but thought that it kind of smudged by the end of the day. So I was looking for an alternative. I had read great reviews about the ‘Incolor’ kajal on the internet and so I picked it up from one of the make-up stores at Karol Bagh a couple of months back.

Packaging: The Kajal comes in the form of a black, twist-up pencil.

Price: Rs. 125/-.

Product Quality: The Kajal is a nice, deep black in colour. One swipe is enough to outline the eye. And it glides on smoothly without breaking or becoming patchy. One can draw a consistent, thick line, defining one’s eyes easily. And the best part is that it stays on for long hours. I am talking 6 to 8 hours. Yes, you read it right, 6-8 hours, so you know your eyes are taken care of with one swipe of this Kajal in the morning. Another thing which I like about this Kajal is that it does not smudge. I wear my Kajal in the morning when I’m getting ready for work and the Kajal stays fine till the time I’m back home. Ever since I started using this Kajal, I have been hooked on to it. I do not feel the need to switch to another Kajal.

Positives:
  Beautiful black colour.
Consistent and thick. One swipe is enough to define the eyes.
  Stays on for long hours.
  Does not smudge/Waterproof.
 Super-economical.

Negatives:
None really!
Recommendation/Comments: This Kajal is excellent. I say go for it.

Please drop me a line if you have tried this Kajal.

NAIL-PAINTS: Bright or Subtle?

Nail-paints are the easiest way to incorporate colour in to your everyday look. Even if you are wearing clothes in the neutral colour-palette, wearing bright colours on your nails can instantly brighten your look.

My current favourite is Maybelline Expresse Finish in #505 Cherise Cherry. The colour is just gorgeous and makes the hands look feminine and well cared for. I almost always favour bright nail-paints over pale/metallic ones as a pop of colour on the nails always looks great.

Also, I got featured on  http://www.peachesandblush.com/2013/06/pb-snapshots-nail-polishes-we-love.html                  Please check-out the link.

How do you like your nail-paint? Shiny and bright or subtle and muted? Do write in your comments.
