Hope all of you had a
beautiful Diwali. I sure had a great time with family.
Actually, to be honest,
I spent most of the day getting our house in order, and by evening I was kind
of exhausted. So although I did want to get dolled-up in a nice saree, I chose
comfort over style (I think I say that a lot). But in comfort too, I wanted to ‘dress
for the occasion’. So I came up with the following outfit solution:
Floral Maxi Skirt + Raw
Silk Red Blouse + Statement Earrings
There’s something about
this floral skirt that makes the whole outfit dressy. If you recall from this
post, I had bought this skirt a couple of weeks back. It came with another top,
but somehow the outfit as a whole did nothing for me. So I had made a mental
note to look for a top from my existing wardrobe that would go nicely with the
skirt. And on looking, I found this beautiful raw silk top that I had gotten
stitched from my local tailor a couple of years back. So this whole outfit is
the perfect example of ‘mix and match’. The best thing about this outfit is
that since the skirt has an elastic waistband, it’s really comfortable.
