What I Wore to a Friend’s Wedding- Indian Outfit - Salwaar Kameez

Today I’ll share with you an Indian outfit (salwar-kameez) that I have already worn a number of times this wedding season.

It’s a beautiful cream and gold Chanderi tunic with royal blue dupatta (scarf) and salwar (pants). What I like the most about this outfit is the dupatta (obviously) - love the details. The dupatta has got broad gold lace sandwiched between red and green border (colourblocking at its best). All throughout the dupatta, there are white gold flowers in gotapatti. The shimmery floral pattern and the gorgeous border give this outfit a festive feel, and although it is not ‘heavy’ per se, this suit is perfect for almost every Indian function (read sangeet, weddings, festivals).

Like I mentioned before, I have worn this suit thrice already, and this photo is of the time I wore it to a friend’s wedding. I kept the accessories minimal- gold jhumkas (earrings), gold and red bangles, and dainty gold heels. I also carried a gold clutch in which I nicely stuffed my phone and mirror.

Might I add that this suit is one of my favourites- love it for it’s sheer simplicity and obviously for the fabulous dupatta. And the credit for this suit goes to my Mum. She had bought it for me (the material), I was not even there at the shop. Once she got the material home, I could not wait to get it tailored. And since this suit was a part of my wedding trousseau, I had to wait till after the wedding to actually wear it.

And for those of you who are interested in knowing where thus suit (material) is from, it’s from Meena Bazaar!

How do you like this outfit?

PS: I know the photo quality is not that great, but this was the best of the lot.
