Wishing
you all a very happy and prosperous Diwali! J Hope
you all had as much fun (and sweets) as I did.
The
past week was beyond hectic- I mean what else could one expect with all the
shopping, cleaning, organizing and decorating! But I loved every moment of the
hectic-ness, the endless trips to the market and getting the house ready to
welcome Diwali.
I
did a few DIY projects to make our home bright and sparkly for Diwali. And I reorganized
a lot of things to give our home a fresh look. I’m thinking of doing a post on ‘Diwali
Home Décor’. Let me know if you lovelies are interested in reading/seeing it.
Now
coming on to my Diwali outfit, I had initially planned on wearing a gorgeous
chiffon saree for the Pooja. However, since I was busy since the morning (and
let’s admit it, I can hardly tie a saree :P), I decided to opt for a simple but
nice lehenga-choli (long skirt and blouse)! I had got this lehenga (long skirt)
custom-made for the purpose of wearing it during one of the smaller wedding
functions, however, I never really got down to wearing it. So it was lying new
in the cupboard. Originally, I had got a red sleeveless blouse stitched to go
along with this lehenga. However, I decided to ditch the red blouse and opted
for a golden one instead. The blouse has got a beautiful back with latkans (as
usual, I forgot to get a photo of the back), and since it’s plain gold in
colour, it goes with a lot of my sarees. For dupatta (scarf/stole), I chose a
red chiffon one with gold work splattered all throughout and a copper-gold
border. This dupatta is a part of a red and gold salwaar-kameez which was a
part of my wedding trousseau. So as you can see, this whole outfit is a result
of some mix-and-match excericse! And to tell you honestly, I loved the whole
look! J
How
do you like this outfit? What did you wear this Diwali?
