Florals for Fall with a little Flea Market Experience: OOTD

How many of you who stay in Delhi have had a chance to explore the make-believe ‘Flea Market’ that’s set-up every Wednesday at Select City Walk? Well, I happened to discover this fun market a couple of weeks ago (16th August, 2014- that day it was held on a Saturday 2014 because of security concerns pre-Independence Day).

I had gone to the Mall to pick up a couple of basic things (like boots for the colder months), and as soon as I saw a sign that read ‘Flea Market’ I knew I had to check it out. Well, to be honest it’s just a bunch of stalls they put outdoors, and there’s some music playing and the whole atmosphere is that of one big picnic. The stalls sell everything from apparels, to footwear to home-décor stuff. But what got me interested was this particular stall which had maxi dresses and jumpsuits in bright colours. Needless to say, I easily managed to pick up 2 maxis. As soon as I got back home, I tried them on, and as soon as I tried them on, I knew they didn’t look good (in fact they looked kinda odd on me)! :/

Anyhow, I was able to get them exchanged last week, and this time I managed to pick up a floral blue midi (almost maxi) and a floral top. And they both look fairly good. J And the reason I’ve shared this story is because I wore this floral top yesterday.

I just wanted to wear Florals for Fall, although it is nowhere near Fall here, still humid and grimy. I picked up my most recent floral purchase and paired it up with black skinnies. The top, if you notice, is a little longer than the short ones which are a rage at the moment. And I quite like this length, especially when such tops are worn with skinny pants. So once I had this floral top + skinny pants combo, I added a black blazer to give the outfit a ‘business casual’ feel, and added my berry pumps to complete the look. The pumps bookend the pinks and deep reds of the top rather well. I could have gone for a neutral bag, but I was too lazy, so the bag remained the usual, dull blue one.

All in all, I was quite happy with the outfit. How do you like it?
